v  Indian Railways has planned to operate passenger trains from May 12. Under this, initially 15 pairs of trains can be operational. These trains will run as special trains connecting 15 important cities of the country from New Delhi station.
v  The Ministry of Railways has prepared a detailed plan for this. Initially only a small number of trains will be operated. During this time people's health and corona infection will also be investigated.

Ø  After that the railways will operate special trains on some other routes though this will depend on the availability of coaches as 20000 coaches have been reserved as Kovid-19 care centers, while a sufficient number of coaches are also required to run 300 workers special trains per day. Ø  Booking starts from Monday


Ø  Booking for reservation of trains running from New Delhi will start from 4 pm on May 11 and will be available only on the IRCTC website. Ticket booking counters at railway stations will remain closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) will be issued. All coaches AC and stops will also be extremely limited. For traveling in these trains, fare equivalent to Rajdhani trains will have to be paid.

Ø  Only passengers with valid confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter railway stations. As per the protocol, passengers have to arrive at the station at least one hour in advance. Passengers will be mandated during entry and undergo screening at the time of departure and only passengers will be allowed to board the train. Only those people will be allowed to board the train with no signs of infection with the virus. The Arogya Setu app must be downloaded.
